Shroom with a View Episode 69- Steric Hinderance- Talkin' all Things Chemistry at SWAV

Welcome to SWAV 69 for the second instalment this month it’s all things chemistry. Nexus is reunited with Co-Host and they are joined by chemist, and author Writer-Dude for a frenetic SWAVY ride through the world of chemistry.

Nexus kicks things off asking a question about drug design and mechanism of action, setting Writer-Dude and Co-Host off to try and cover as much as possible. We manage to cover the basic ideas and problems thrown up during drug design, touching on how to resolve your racemic mixture and overcome the ever present problem of steric hindrance. Moving on we realise again that we’ve chosen the wrong media to describe the structure of the atom, listen along as we try to resolve this as well as many other problems as well as our usual SWAVY goodness.

To nicely end the episode Nexus and Co-Host read out a beautifully written email from mob_socratic who asks a few chemistry questions which we try to answer.
