BB's Bungalow #52 Happy Holidays and EGA 2011 Happy holidays and happy summer solstice to those in the southern hemisphere! This month I have a festive-themed episode with some recordings from Entheogenesis Australis 2011 this past month. We’ll be hearing from Keeper Trout in a spontaneous discussion about the cannabis laws in the US versus Australia – that was just before he ran a workshop about cactus grafting. Keeper Trout has an interest in ethnobotanical plants and authored a short series of books entitled Trout’s Notes. He also does volunteer work for the Cactus Conservation Institute and his primary focus of interest is cultivating shiitakes and learning more about the fungal world. We’ll also hear most of a talk from Dan Gooden titled ‘Terence McKenna and reverse engineering consciousness’ where we’ll hear plenty of clips from the bard himself, as well as an introduction to Dan’s idea to reengineer the way people interact with each other in communities through his project http://www.sharedearth.net/. Sharedearth is a social network for humans to build trust and share possessions and skills, helping us rewrite our cultural and economic stories to reflect our emerging experience of universal interconnection. I’d also love for you to send in your music, comedy or trip reports for us to include on future shows. Drop us an email to blackbeauty@dopefiend.co.uk or find me on Twitter at BlackBeauty. We love receiving your trip reports, questions, product reviews, voicemails, comedy or music that you would like to hear on the Bungalow. Every little bit you send helps out with putting these shows together for you, on the last Thursday of each and every month It would be great to hear from anyone out there in the Dopetribe who may be able to help me out a bit with putting together the content and production of the podcast then please get in touch! On the second of this season's record-breaking run of DopeTribe Dispatches, we kick of with Kinguq, who takes the dopetribe on an overnight hike, giving advice on how to avoid bears, encounters a beaver dam, and a moose, sets up camp for the night by a lake, and celebrates 420 with a joint of homegrown. Next, leejon420 returns with his account of part 2 of his cannabis career, in which he discovers high grade skunk cannabis, joins the vaporizer revolution and becomes part of the dopetribe! Then, Adam and Charles discuss their recent trip to Amsterdam, the hash they enjoyed there, and how the city has changed in recent years, and also mention the Weed Wars TV series and the fight for legalization in the US. Recent OzTribe Newcomer Sgt Nomad talks about how being part of the dopetribe made emigrating to Australia an easier experience, lets us listen in on his first LSD trip, reports on his recent group shroom and DMT trips with the OzTribe, brings us along on his trip to Entheogenesis Australis, and talks about his own personal history with cannabis. Finally, Ganja girl & Popca Tepetl share some tasty vapes and talk about how much they enjoy being part of the DopeTribe, how it's enhanced their life as a couple, their first times with cannabis, and their stoner lives in general. On this year's much anticipated return of the Twelve Strains of Christmas, we join the Dopefiend together with the Gremlin of Ganja, Cheezetheday, Blank Steve, Max Freakout, Squidgy Sid, The Toker, Scottobaggins and Green Lady as they get stuck into an incredible range of festive varieties of gourmet ganja, kicking things off with one of eight strains submitted by DopeCave Cup 2011 winner Yosser Hughes, Pink Rhino, which goes down beautifully in the brand new Cloud Vaporizer. Taking a look back over the last twelve months in the Dopefiend.co.uk universe, the Dopefiend and gathered tribers discuss the ongoing saga of Floydhead, who has sworn off all drugs, before firing up the WISPR portable vaporizer with some of Blank Steve's famed Iced Grapefruit, and going on to talk about using cannabis as a remedy for insomnia, the incredible stunt pulled by the Gremlin of Ganja in the run-up to his big reveal at Dopestock, and the DopeTribe's love of Volcano Bag Hot Chocolate. Tucking into some of Yosser Hughes's Royal Haze in the Cloud vaporizer, the Dopefiend welcomes The Toker into the Christmas Day festivities, before giving a special mention to the introduction of DopeTribe Live to the network by Scoobysnakks. After a quick chat about this year's launch of the Global Commision on Drug Policy and whether it will actually result in any tangible changes in drug policy, leading to a mention for the TV series Weed Wars, the Dopefiend passes some fresh Sour Kush to the Gremlin of Ganja, almost decking him, and also fires up some Chinese Cheese in the Volcano Digit and some Pink Diesel "Dry Parsley" in the WISPR. Next, the DopeTribe talk about how difficult it is to buy bulk amounts of cannabis in the UK, but how good value deals are still to be found if you look hard enough, before adding a bit of Blank Steve's Northern Lights into the mix and going on to talk about how this year saw the transition from the Legalise Cannabis Alliance to CLEAR in the UK legalisation movement. Following a festive musical interlude, the Dopefiend loads up the WISPR with AK47 and the Cloud with some Shark No.2, before dispatching The Toker to load up the Volcano with some Pink Diesel "Fruity" and talking about how this year saw the Obama administration's U-Turn concerning medical dispensaries in California, and also how similar moves seem afoot in the Netherlands, to which Cheezetheday testifies, prompting Max Freakout to talk about how the Netherlands has always been home to an internal conflict concerning their liberal approach to drugs. Loading the DopeCave Cup winner Yosser Hughes' Cheese into The Cloud vaporizer, the DopeTribe reminisce about the DopeCave Cup itself, and this year's launch of the WISPR vaporizer which quickly became a firm favourite among fans of portable vaporization, before welcoming Scottobaggins and Green Lady and their White Rhino into the Dope Den for some Christmas Day stoning, both of whom love the Cloud vaporizer, but also showcase their own Silver Surfer by loading it up with some White Rhino. Now considerably stoned, but holding up well, the gathered DopeTribers discuss the recent announcement by the Dutch government that they intend to ban high-strength cannabis from sale in coffeeshops and the new trend of middle-class homeowners leasing out rooms to cannabis grow operations. Finally, after revisiting the subject of how cannabis use affects dreaming and The Toker's theory about how dream inhibition could be the cause of cannabis-related psychosis, the Dopefiend talks with Cheezetheday, Max Freakout and Blank Steve about the recent arrival of the Cloud Vaporizer at the Dope Den, and then goes on to take a hit of the twelfth strain on the menu today, the White Rhino using the Silver Surfer before recapping this year's Twelve Strains of Christmas, the gathered DopeTribers head off to their respective families for an enormous Christmas Dinner munchfest! Don't miss more incredible DopeTribe Dispatches over the next four Mondays, before the Dopefiend returns for the 300th Dopecast on January 23rd. Welcome to the Shroom with a View seasonal special where Nex, Co Host and a host of guests ask "Are we Doomed?" First up Druid Dude tackles the question then Nexus and Co Host kick off the show. We hear the Scoobysnakks Holiday Hootenanny from a whole 20 years in the past. Barefoot Poncho Jesus administers his seasonal blessing. Then Deck the Halls: the most Christmas song ire christmas song Nexus could find. Rak Razam then joins us to talk about 2012, DMT activation and the Next Step. Back to Co Host and Nexus to carry it along with an excellent message for the family Noir. Next we hear from the Dopefiend himself who is traditionally warm and toasty. After the Dopefiend's positive message, Co Host responds to being called a luddite. Onwards, after some vapoursiser chat, we hear form the Two Zillion Year Old Hippie. Possibly the most fantastic section of the whole show. Trying to follow up from the Hippie is hard but we go on with Blank Steve, an inspiring seasonal song from a surprising source then the first of a terrifying ghost story. We then hear how seasonal music can be made even more spooky. Next up, a recording of a man talking about mushrooms, shamans and Christmas Nexus found on youtube by accident. Quite interesting. Next we bring back Zandor and Mrs Z from the past so even without current internet they can say hello. Another cheery story of curses and death then Smoke Jaguar pops by to put it all into the anthropological perspective for us. Lastly Hidden Place says hi and let's us know that at the end of the day we'll be but ok because we "so much more"! Lastly, Nexus and Co Host come back and give you their thoughts and we wish you all a very reggae Christmas. A big thank you to everyone involved and we'll be back next year. Love to everyone and thank you for listening throughout this year and on into the next. Ho Ho Ho Dopetribers! Welcome to the last ever episode of the Scoobysnakks Smoking Session here on the best cannabis podcast network on earth! On our final journey this month we’re going to be enjoying something of a ganja party in the studio to celebrate the series I’ve been able to bring you throughout this year. In the making of these 12 episodes I’ve spent over 600 hours in the studio, played over 90 songs, cut up over 10,000 sound files, used 12,467 cigarette papers, 3 grinders, 47 lighters and enough roach paper to cover half a football field. I’ve drank over 8,500 cups of tea, burnt out 2 computer monitors, 2 pairs of headphones, 1 hardrive and 3 tea soaked keyboards. The ashtray has been emptied 164 times and it appears I’ve also consumed enough marijuana to sink a ferry boat. It has been much fun bringing you this monthly addition and I sincerely hope it’s achieved it’s aim which is to give you something nice to enjoy your weed to. I hope that my small contribution to the Dopefiend network has been as much fun to listen to as I’ve had in the making of it all and I hope my small present back to the network will be a long and lasting one. Much thanks go to the other podcasters of this awesome network who work extremely hard to bring you the content you enjoy. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that you cannot ever underestimate the time and effort that goes into podcasting! The Dopefiend podcasters and contributors are one in a million so please continue to support all of the fabulous informative and fun shows on the network. I’d also like to thank the guy who’s made all of this possible – The Dopefiend himself! Without his vision, none of this would exist for us all to enjoy and it’s been a real honour for me to put a little something back into this very well loved and highly respected network. Don’t forget that if you want to keep up with my other weed inspired projects you can find me over on my 420 internet radio and TV station Planet London Radio every Sunday Night @ 7pm UK Time where you’ll find me hosting Dopetribe Live. Our aim over the next few months is to gather as many global Dopetribers as possible to come listen and participate in this live 420 call in show. We need you so come drop by and say hello! The station can be found by clicking here: www.justin.tv/planetlondonradio If you’d like to join us for Dopetribe Live you can find out the show start times (7pm UK Time) in your part of the world by clicking here: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?day=22&month=5&year=2011&hour=19&min=0&sec=0&p1=136 And finally – above all, I’d like to thank YOU! If you’ve downloaded any or all of the series and taken the time to enjoy it I’d like to thank you one and all - fine people of the Dopetribe! It’s been awesome to have your words of encouragement all throughout this year and it’s the inspiration of the tribe that has fuelled the series to completion. If you’ve ripped, burned, copied, forwarded, emailed or passed on any of the episodes, my bestsest thanks go out to you! And so with that, we bring the curtain down on a most exciting year long adventure. I hope you’ve enjoyed the trip as much as I have and thanks for taking it with me. Until I see you all again somewhere, sometime have a great time ahead and remember above all else to be excellent to one another… Thanks for listening. Scoobysnakks xxxx Track List 1. On this year's last episode of the Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast, the Dopefiend talks about how the UK government have responded to the recent call by the Global Commission on Drug Policy that governments review their current drug strategy by launching a Home Affairs Select Committee inquiry onto the UK drug policy, and examines whether these types of inquiry have ever yielded real results in terms of policy changes, and why this impending inquiry might be different. Next, the Dopefiend reads a response from T-Dub to the recent recommendation from a listener that DopeTribers investigate the possibilities of furthering their education for free with a Chinese government scholarship, and also discusses the phenomenon of drug terminology leaving its counterculture origins behind and becoming mainstream. Heading into the VaporLounge, the Dopefiend mentions a thread recently started by Febo at thegrowreport.com about whether finely ground ganja could be used as a form of cannabis snuff, and talks about why this might not be the best method for ingesting our secret sacrament, but how many DopeTribers have discovered the pleasures of eating vapo-poop, which is made orally active due to having been heated to over 180 degrees celcius. Moving on to fire up his Cloud vaporizer and hit some fruity Purple Kush, the Dopefiend talks about how Febo has found that vaporizing can result in over-production of mucus, the Dopefiend describes how his trialling of the new Cloud vaporizer has somewhat remedied this problem, as the vapour is cooled by ice and moisture-conditioned before inhalation, and is therefore less of an irritant. Following a musical interlude, the Dopefiend returns to the recent spat involving GW Pharmaceuticals, the manufacturer of cannabis-based medication Sativex, and Peter Reynolds, the new leader of cannabis law reform campaign organisation CLEAR, and talks about why the angry letter-writing and complaining of Peter Reynolds might not be the best way to go about advancing the legalisation cause in the United Kingdom, and how it seems to beturning more people off than on. In this week's Cannabis News: Canadian cannabis campaigner Istvan Marton dies on hunger strike, Nevada's decade-old medical marijuana law risks being overturned, London hospitals are on alert over suspected "rogue ecstasy", a Minnesota boy turns in his parents for smoking cannabis, authorities discover yet more drug tunnels between Mexico and the US, and is Miley Cyrus really a stoner? Don't miss some awesome holiday specials, including 5 weeks of incredible DopeTribe Dispatches, and a special Christmas Eve treat from the elusive Queerninja, and make sure you're by some glowing embers on Christmas Day for the return of the whitey-defying 12 Strains of Christmas!
